Logan offers a range of positions for student interns.
Interns can be current or past students, a minimum age of 18 and must be able to speak and understand English for both training purposes and health and safety concerns. Free accommodation is available on site for interns and there is availability all year round. Internships of up to 12 months are available for students with British passports or those with the right to live and work in the UK. Students who do not fulfil this criteria can stay for a maximum of 30 days.

Useful Information
The minimum age for intern students is 18. This is non-negotiable.
Accommodation is available on site for intern students at Logan Botanic Garden and is located behind the small area of woodland to the left of the garden entrance. This comprises of 1 single and 2 twin bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, a dining room and a shower room with a toilet. All bed linen such as duvets, duvet covers, sheets, pillows and pillow cases are supplied on site. You are however expected to supply your own towels.
Please arrange to arrive in Stranraer between 9am & 3pm If you arrive outside these hours we cannot guarantee a member of staff will be able to collect you. The closest airport is Prestwick airport and this has regular train and bus links to Stranraer. Glasgow airport is also 2 hours away.
Two computers are available in the Cottage for use at lunch times and during the evening. Both Skype and internet facilities are available on these machines.
Students are required to provide their own safety/steel toe-capped boots and waterproof clothing which are essential to work in the garden. A list of Essential Clothing required will be provided when a place is offered and accepted.
Please ensure you have full travel insurance in force. If you are from an E.U. country please also ensure you apply for and receive a European Health Insurance Card and bring it with you.
There is an electric cooker, fridge, freezer and microwave available for use. A range of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery are also supplied.
It is your responsibility to return keys to a member of staff at the end of your stay.
Dumfries & Galloway has a wide range of excellent visitor attractions.
A phone is available in the cottage to receive incoming calls after 5pm at night. The phone cannot be used to make outgoing calls except in the event of an emergency.
The only total coverage in the area is via the Vodafone network. SIM cards are available to purchase in Stranraer.
The garden is open to the public from 1st March -15th November from 10am -5pm (4pm in November). Working hours are 8am - 4.30pm (3.30pm in winter). We have placements for interns all year round.
Students will be taken to Stranraer once a week for shopping. Stranraer has supermarkets, chemists, a post office, a bus terminal and a train station.
It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct visa for entering the UK and for the duration of your internship.
Any offer will be subject to Covid regulations in the area where you live and at Logan too and a place may have to be withdrawn at short notice in line with Covid regulations. If your country of origin is not on the air corridor list with the UK and you have to quarantine for 2 weeks upon arrival we will not be able to accept you.
Internships for EU students who are not British passport holders are subject to a maximum of 30 days
