Savour the Garden; stay a little longer and enjoy a variety of food and drink options in our café venues. Dine on produce grown in our own Kitchen Garden, refresh with a light snack or grab a quick coffee. The choice is yours.

  • The Gateway

    The bright and airy Gateway Café offers an idyllic spot in which to enjoy sumptuous seasonal dishes, prepared on-site with ingredients handpicked from our Kitchen Garden and freshly prepared, daily, by our culinary team.

    Kids, and adults, will love hand-crafted pizza* at the outdoor Deck Bar situated on the decking adjacent to the Gateway Café, where you can also enjoy a glass of wine or Gardeners Brew craft ale in the sun, overlooking lush gardens and exotic plants. The Deck Bar is open Friday to Sunday, April to June, and Monday to Sunday, July and August (weather dependant).

    Fancy a quick coffee to enjoy whilst you explore the Garden? Visit the Potting Shed, next to the Botanics Shop and pick up a speciality coffee and piece of home baking. The Potting Shed is open Friday to Sunday, September to June, and Monday to Sunday in July and August.

    *Please note: our hand-crafted pizza is only available on Saturdays and Sundays. 

  • The Terrace

    In the heart of the Garden, overlooking Inverleith House Lawn and the Edinburgh skyline, the Terrace is a perfect place to relax and unwind.

    Handmade pastries, soup and sandwiches, savoury bites and tempting desserts are served fresh from our ovens throughout the day.

    Book a Cream Tea at The Terrace for a unique experience featuring botanicals, herbs and edible flowers carefully harvested from our Kitchen Garden.

  • The East Gate Coffee Bar

    You can find the East Gate Coffee Shop at the entrance to the Botanics on Inverleith Row. Serving a selection of speciality coffees, teas and Scottish soft drinks as well as delicious selection of home baking, you can choose to enjoy this on the picnic benches or as you explore the Garden.

    Look out for our new seasonal food pop-up, serving a selection of tacos, nachos and quick bites, created using ingredients from the Kitchen Garden.
