Tom and Janet’s children.
Tom and Janet were both born in 1918. Tom enlisted in the Territorial Army in 1939 and was posted to 176th Field Ambulance. During this time he served overseas in West Africa and attained the rank of Captain. Janet served in The Auxiliary Territorial Service as a Lance Corporal. They were married on 22nd August 1944 in Clackmannan Church. During the next sixteen years they had five children Ellen Margaret, Anne, Sheila Matheson, Frances Allan and William Kenneth. Tom’s last position before retiring in 1978 was as Secretary at The Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh. His great joy was to walk straight from his office into the gardens. Both Tom and Janet loved their garden and grew everything from vegetables to roses very successfully. Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts. The family.
