Library Opening Hours
As a national reference collection, the Library and Archives is open to members of the public. Please note that the Library and Archives will be closed to external visitors throughout December in order to facilitate collection management activities. They will re-open on Tuesday 7th January 2025.

Normal opening hours are 10am - 4pm, Tuesday and Thursday and access is by appointment only. You can book an appointment by telephone (0131 248 2821) or by email.
If you are planning a visit it is highly advisable to contact us in advance, especially if you would like to consult specific items or if you are visiting from a distance.
