The carpological collection consists of the seeds and fruits of plants and is an additional resource for those working with our collections.

Summary
3,500 specimens databased
As a supplement to our herbarium sheets we also hold a 'carpological' collection. This is essentially made up of seed and fruit, as well as any plant parts which are too large to be incorporated into the main collection as a standard herbarium sheet. Many of these cross reference with the herbarium sheets and help to enrich the preserved collection.

We are in the process of digitising our collections, not all of the carpological material has been databased, so not all material can be viewed through our catalogue.
