Our interactive programmes are curriculum-linked and usually last for 90 minutes.
Programmes are led by one of our Learning Team and mostly take place out in the Garden, you can check our individual Teacher Sheets for more details of what to expect on the day.
Our interdisciplinary approach connects with the meta-skills framework, Learning for Sustainability, and Rights Respecting Schools.
If you plan to extend your visit and stay at the Garden for the day, we have a mix of learning resources and plant adventures available for lower and upper primary children; secondary and young adults; educators; and families.
You can view these resources here.

Schools can request this at the time of booking.
Cancellations within 4 weeks of the date of visit may be subject to a £40 cancellation fee per class per programme. If you must cancel for any reason, contact us via schools@rbge.org.uk as early as possible to discuss your options.
Some programmes may not be able to run if the Garden must close due to high winds or other severe weather. If weather warnings are issued in advance of your visit, we will aim to contact you the day before to decide whether the visit will be cancelled or not. You are advised to telephone 0131 552 7171 before leaving school if in any doubt on the day of your visit.
