Imma Busquet
Graduated in biology, specializing in botany from the University of Barcelona, in 1982.
I have been working for 25 years as an Environmental Agent in Catalonia. I have always been interested in drawing. In the 90s I discovered botanical illustration, which I am passionate about. The courses at the RBGE (the Certificate first and then the Diploma) have helped me re-engage with it and move me forward on this path. I am mainly interested in highlighting and making known, through illustration, the plants of the place where I live.
Title of the Project:
The Natural agriculture of Masanobu Fukuoka in the Mediterranean climate.
About the Project:
My project is related to another experimental project that seeks to find a way to grow the rainfed cereal, without plowing the field, while combining it with a legume. We also talk about agro-forestry fields, because we introduce rows of fruit trees that subdivide our fields into different sectors.
Honey plants are introduced into the rows of fruit trees, and an area is always left, at some edge of the field, that is not touched and that functions as a wildlife refuge and biodiversity reservoir. The plants chosen are representative of each of these areas.
