I live and work in Somerset, having studied Fine Art at Wolverhampton and London Metropolitan Universities.
I’m fascinated by the relationship between plants and the rest of the natural world. Working for my diploma at the RGBE, has caused me to reflect how the tiniest details are often the most significant. This is particularly relevant when it comes to the interrelations between plants and their pollinators. I am currently continuing to work on this topic.
Title of the Project:
Nocturnal Symbiosis
About the Project:
My final project looks at nocturnal symbiosis in particular how plants attract night flying insects and what these insects are looking for. I took the wonderful Piet Oudolf gardens at Hauser and Wirth Somerset as my inspiration. I studied the plants that are nectar rich and worked out where the nectar is located. The illustrations depict the moment where the plant releases the nectar for the insects to feast.
