Born and live in Thailand.
Since 2018 I have diverted my profession from home textile business, returning fulltime to pursue my passion in art, and also started my interest in botanical illustration by joining the certificate course at RBGE in 2019. I find both fact and aesthetic presence of plants very intriguing, and wish to portray them in my works.
Title of the Project:
The Vulnerable Natives
About the Project:
The project is developed from the study of Dipterocarpus intricatus, an endangered species from the Native tree module. I feel the impulse to continue working with plants in this critical status; “be threatened, vulnerable, critically endangered.”
I also have been inspired by theirs stories, unique properties, beauties and richness of natural resources. All the selected subjects have long history of being sought after, highly valued and sadly exploited by human activities. There are only small numbers of Botanical illustration of these 5 plants recorded. By studying and illustrating them, I feel at least this could be my contribution to nature conservation.
