Title of the Project:
Apiaceae – a family gathering
About the Project:
Apiaceae, also called Umbelliferae, is an important family of flowering plants with more than 3700 species. From the well know Queen Anne’s lace to the thistle look of the Alpine Sea holly, the Apiaceae family show a large diversity of look and flower structures: simple, compound and capitular umbel. I have chosen 5 plants showing those three umbel aspects. They are also plants of contrast; strength and toughness for Angelica sylvestris and at the opposite, for example, delicacy and lightness for Daucus carota.
