The Memory Garden is currently undergoing a redevelopment. This is to create a bigger, more defined space with more seating, where people can reflect and relax in our Edinburgh Garden. You can still visit the area and see the plaques on the beautiful stone wall, work will start in April.

You can help our Memory Garden grow by remembering someone dear to you or commemorating a special occasions.

For a gift of £750* your personal dedication will be engraved upon a wall plaque in the Memory Garden and be in place for 10 years.

Your generous support will enable the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh to continue our vital community engagement, education, plant science and horticulture work.

Wall Plaque Inscriptions

In Celebration plaques can be inscribed with up to 50 characters (including spaces) and a date.

In Memoriam plaques can be inscribed with a name (up to 20 characters including spaces), year of birth, year of death and an optional dedication (up to 80 characters including spaces).

You can choose whether your sponsored plaque is sited on the upper or lower section of the Memory Garden wall.

Memory Garden Wall Plaque Certificate: You will receive a bespoke certificate authenticating your Memory Garden wall plaque, recording your commemoration and acknowledging your personal support.

It is estimated that there will be a 12 week period from the point of ordering before the wall plaque arrives in the Memory Garden.
